Hoover Service Club was organized by Flora Mae Pike and ten other women in 1975 for the sole purpose of "helping others" in the Hoover Community. Today the club is a group of over 125 civic and service-minded women who give their time and talents to help meet the needs in the community. Since 1975, more than $550,000 has been donated to the community in scholarships and charitable donations. Our annual fundraiser, Hearts in Harmony, provides funds which enable us to continue the legacy of "Helping Others."
The Hoover Service Club's mission statement is as follows:
To give aid to the needy;
To promote increased knowledge of the community needs and to fulfill these needs as within the realm of the interests of the organization;
To further education for Hoover school students with scholarships;
To award outstanding citizenship among Hoover school students;
To recognize outstanding volunteer service to the community by awarding the Flora Mae Pike Hoover Community Service Award to deserving Hoover individuals.
Our quarterly newsletters will keep you up to date on Hoover Service Club activities and upcoming events.
