Our Mission

  • Hoover Service Club was organized by Flora Mae Pike and ten other women in 1975 for the sole purpose of "helping others" in the Hoover Community.  Today the club is a group of over 125 civic and service-minded women who give their time and talents to help meet the needs in the community. Since 1975, more than $550,000 has been donated to the community in scholarships and charitable donations. Our annual fundraiser, Hearts in Harmony, provides funds which enable us to continue the legacy of "Helping Others."

  • The Hoover Service Club's mission statement is as follows:
    • To give aid to the needy;
    • To promote increased knowledge of the community needs and to fulfill these needs as within the realm of the interests of the organization;
    • To further education for Hoover school students with scholarships;
    • To award outstanding citizenship among Hoover school students;
    • To recognize outstanding volunteer service to the community by awarding the Flora Mae Pike Hoover Community Service Award to deserving Hoover individuals.
