SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year Hoover Service Club awards needs-based scholarships to graduating seniors from Hoover High School and Spain Park High School. Over $48,000 was awarded in 2024 with funds from the following sources:

• $36,000 from Hoover Service Club's 2022-2023 fundraising efforts
• $2,000 from the McMicken Family Scholarship Fund
• $10,000 from Jefferson County Commission Grants

The Ardith McMicken Community Service Award is a privately funded award given annually to one senior from Spain Park High School in memory of former Hoover Service Club member Ardith McMicken.

The Margaret Alford Community Service Award is a privately funded award given annually to one senior from Hoover High School in memory of Hoover Service Club member Margaret Alford. 

Students from each Hoover middle school are recognized for their outstanding citizenship and academic success.
